Mission Statement

The Wilmington University Alumni Relations Department is committed to building and sustaining a lifelong relationship with the University and the Alumni in the spirit that defines Wilmington University. The Alumni Relations Department is guided by the University mission and institutional values of respect, integrity, opportunity, responsiveness, innovation, education, experience and caring for our Alumni as friends and partners.

Alumni Relations Department

Since January 2008, under the direction of Dr. Thomas B. Cupples, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Alumni Relations Department has been actively making big changes.

In order to strengthen the department and better meet the needs and desires of the growing number of alumni, we have added support positions and restructured the existing staff.

Stefanie Whitby, Senior Director of Institutional Advancement, initiates new plans and strategies for alumni activities while also focusing on strengthening the Chapter Programs and enhancing the involvement of social networking. As Director of Annual Funds, Gloria Johnson is responsible for development and alumni/corporate giving. She continues to spearhead the Wilmington University Green and White Ball, which is one of two annual fundraisers for scholarships. This event highlights the regions’ best restaurants, beverages and entertainment to raise scholarship money, financial aid and other benefits for the students of Wilmington University. As Director of Alumni Relations, Pattie Jennings oversees the development and cultivation of personal connections. Stacey Stickel oversees the development of new alumni chapters in addition to promoting alumni events and outreach through social media and print.

As an Alumni Associate, Brandi Purcell oversees the administrative responsibities for updating the alumni database and implementing new software to keep in touch with the Alums. In addition, she has been instrumental in coordinating events that encourage our alumni to stay connected. Jane West oversees major events for the Alumni and assists in the organization and implementation of University events.  

As a group, Alumni Relations continues to promote and enhance the major annual alumni events such as our now famous Alumni Weekend, which takes place during the third week in September. Don't miss a chance to give back to the University by participating in the Wilmington University Scholarship Golf Classic on May 3, 2012. All of the money raised at this event will be used for scholarships to benefit Wilmington University students. Keep an eye out for a chance to contribute to the Alumni Coat Drive or join us on our annual NYC bus trip in December. The Specialty License Tag Campaign is still going on with a chance for you to enjoy showing your pride in Wilmington University while also donating to the Annual Fund!
