Placement Testing Exemptions

Students who meet any of the following criteria are not required to take a placement test:

1. Students who have an English SAT score of at least 450 are not required to take the English ACCUPLACER® tests (Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and WritePlacer).
2. Students who have a math SAT score of at least 450 are not required to take the math ACCUPLACER® tests (Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra).
3. Students who transfer an appropriate English course for ENG 101 are not required to take the English ACCUPLACER® tests.
4. Students who transfer an appropriate math course for MAT 101, MAT 200, MAT 201 or MAT 205 are not required to take the math ACCUPLACER® tests.

Students who would normally not be required to take the ACCUPLACER® tests may elect to take them if they are not sure about their preparation for college-level classes.
