Matt Blazynski is entering his second year as a member of the Wildcat coaching staff. He is entering the coaching ranks for the first time, with a successful on-the-field resume, and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. His responsibilities will be working with the catchers, and will also have a substantial role in recruiting. Matt was a highly touted prep star at Devon Preparatory School, twice being named All-Conference, and to the prestigious Carpenter Cup Teams, along with being named a top 50 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania by Baseball America.
Matt began his college career at the University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of the Bearcats for two years before transferring to Delaware County Community College. While at DCCC, Matt was twice named to the All-Conference and All-Region Teams as a catcher, and set single season and career marks in home runs, RBI’s, slugging percentage, and base runners thrown out. He then chose to forego his final eligibility and pursue a career in professional baseball, and signed with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League.
