Biography

Following a distinguished running career at the University of Delaware and Oklahoma, Andy Weaver joins the Wilmington University coaching staff for his first season in the fall of 2013.

Weaver graduated from the University of Delaware in the spring of 2012 before heading to Oklahoma University for a final season on the cross country course in the fall of 2012. He served as a volunteer assistant for the Delaware club team during the 2011-12 academic year.

While at Oklahoma, he was named an Oklahoma Academic All-American and qualified for the NCAA’s after placing 19th at the Big 12 Championships. Ran a time of 30:45.96 for a 16th place finish at the NCAA Regionals before coming in 123rd at the NCAA Championship meet with a time of 30:56.

During his time at Delaware, Weaver became the first club cross-country national champion in program history while leading the Blue Hens to a fourth-place finish at the Club Cross Country Championships in 2011. Holds multiple school records on the cross country and track teams, as well as at the club level for the Blue Hens. He was named to the 2010 All-Region and All-East teams while also being named to the 2011 All-CAA team for track. He was also named to the 2010 Mid-Atlantic All-Region team while running for the Blue Hens.

Weaver graduated from Delaware with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a minor in economics before earning his master’s in Administrative Leadership from Oklahoma.

He currently works at New Balance and resides in Hockessin, Del.
