Greg Cope - Assistant Coach

Greg Cope begins his fourth year with the Wildcats as an assistant and goalkeeper coach for the men’s team. He was a member of the 2007 CACC Championship men’s soccer team.

Coach Cope began in the early 90’s helping out with Kirkwood Soccer programs and as an assistant for the Newark High School women’s team in the spring of 1996. At Newark he was the goalkeeper coach and had a successful year coaching a brand new keeper to a 0.93 goals against average, nine shutouts, and 2nd Team All-State honors. In the fall of 1996 Greg moved down to Lexington, Kentucky and joined the women’s soccer coaching staff. In three years coaching with the Kentucky Wildcats, they achieved a record of 31-27-6, and earned two NCAA tournament berths. His goalkeeper earned 2nd Team All-Southeastern Conference honors in 1997. During his time down in Kentucky he also privately trained many keepers.

Greg earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Organizational Management from Wilmington University in the spring of 2008, and currently is studying for his master’s in Organizational Leadership. Along with coaching and school, Coach Cope also owns and runs his own sports equipment business, EPOC.
