Wildcats Claim Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championship

Wilmington University won their second consecutive Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championship on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament took place at the Timberlin Country Club, on a Par 72, 6,817 yard course.
The Wildcats shot a two round total of 597 (293-304), finishing eight strokes ahead of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival Post University (605). Goldey-Beacom College placed third (615), while Dowling College (624) and American International College (624) rounded out the top five. There were a total of 15 schools competing at the third annual event.
Junior Paul Tighe led the way for Wilmington, as he garnered medalist honors shooting a two day total of 145 (68-77). Senior Dan Ott placed eighth, carding a two-round score of 151 (75-76). The duo of freshman Scott Davidson (76-77) and junior John Perrine (74-79) each shot a 153 and tied for 11th place. Sophomore Andrew Baldo rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats, shooting a 154 (80-74) and tied for 14th place.
Wilmington returns to action next Monday, when they travel to St. Augustine, Florida to take part in the Flagler College Invitational.
