Wilmington Women Trounced by Philadelphia, 87-49

Guards Megan Finn and Stephanie Agger each scored a game-high 18 points as the Philadelphia University Lady Rams were victorious in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener, 87-49 over Wilmington (Del.) University, Saturday evening in the Gallagher Center.
Guard Taylor Peltzer added 15 points in the win for Philadelphia (5-2, 1-0 CACC) and forward Kristen Blye had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Wilmington (1-4, 0-1 CACC) received a team-high 12 points from sophomore guard Courtney Coleman. Senior forward Candace Phrance added six points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Rams shot 56.6 percent (30-of-53) from the field and 76.7 percent (23-of-30) from the charity stripe. Wilmington was held to 29.8 percent (17-of-57) shooting for the game and was a 66.7 percent (10-of-15) shooting team at the line. Philadelphia dominated the glass by a count of 49-22.
Philadelphia led 9-7 before outscoring Wilmington 36-10 over the final 16:34 of the first half to take a 45-17 halftime advantage.
The Wildcats are back in action on Thursday evening, when they play host to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest beginning at 6:00 PM.
