The Lady Wildcats of Wilmington University dropped their fourth straight game, a 68-43 decision to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) home opener on Thursday evening at the Pratt Center.

Wilmington fell behind 15-5 in the opening six and a half minutes, and never got back into the game, as they trailed 35-19 at the half.  The Griffins extended their lead to as many as 33 (68-35) late in the second half, as they cruised to the lopsided victory.

The ‘Cats were led by sophomore guard Tianna Wagner, who posted 15 points.  Freshman forward Samantha Retas added a Cats team high seven boards to go along with her five points.  

Chestnut Hill was led by Lila Jones 19 points, while Lindsay Alexander added 15 and Randi Jo Farrell chipped in with 12 points.  Ashlen Stayrock posted 10 points and four rebounds.

Following the game, Wilmington dropped to 0-2 in CACC and 1-5 overall, while Chestnut Hill improved to 1-1 in CACC and 1-6 on the season.  The Wildcats return to the court on Saturday afternoon when they host on the Deacons of Bloomfield College.  Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
