Wildcats Second, Tighe Ninth After Two Rounds at the North Alabama Spring Classic

Junior PJ Tighe is tied for ninth after two rounds with a 146
After playing two rounds of play on the first day of the North Alabama Spring Classic the Wilmington University golf team sits comfortably in second heading into the second and final day, playing at the Robert Trent Jones Fighting Joe Golf Trail at the Shoals on Monday afternoon.
The Wildcats cut their second round score by 11 strokes to shoot a 288 on the second 18 holes and finish with a team score of 587 after one day of play. Wilmington trails host North Alabama by 14 strokes, as the home team shot a 287 and a 286 to lead the field of 17 teams.
Wilmington only had one player in the top 10 of the leaderboard after two rounds of play, as Paul Tighe is tied in ninth with a two-round score of 146. He shot a three-over 75 in the first round, but bounced back to shot a one-under 71 to lead the Wildcats.
Scott Davidson shot a low round of 70 for the Wildcats, slicing eight strokes off his first round score to post a 148 on the day. Davidson is tied for 15th after the first day, and shares the position with two other teammates, as Dan Ott and John Perrine are also tied for 15th with two rounds in the books.
Ott shot a consistent 74-74 while Perrine shot a 75-73 to both finish four over pay. Andrew Baldo rounded out the Wildcat scoring by posting a 152 and in a tie for 37.
The Robert Trent Jones Fighting Joe Golf Trail is a par 72, 7126-yard course in the northwest corner of Alabama on the banks of Wilson Lake.
The first of the Wildcats will tee-off starting the third round at 8:58 on Tuesday morning.
