Baseball Game At Bridgeport Postponed; Bill Giles Championship Moved to Tuesday, April 16
Thursday, April 11, 2013 - Newark, Del.
A pair of schedule changes for the Wilmington University baseball team came on Thursday, as today’s game at Bridgeport has been postponed due to rain and the Bills Giles Invitational Championship at Citizens Bank Park has been moved to Tuesday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m.
The game between Bridgeport and the Wildcats will be rescheduled, but a date has not been announced.
The Wildcats advanced to the final of the Bill Giles Invitational with a 16-5 victory on Wednesday against West Chester. It is the third straight year the Wildcats have reached the Championship, playing on the home field of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Bill Giles Invitational will have a new winner this year, as West Chester has been the victors each of the past five years and nine of the last 10 seasons overall. Wilmington took home its only Championship in 2007.
Now that the Bill Giles Invitational is on Tuesday, the Wildcats original game schedule against Shippensburg will also be moved. The two teams will find an open date, but none have been announced at this time.
