A stretch of four straight home games in early December gives Wilmington University women’s basketball fans an ample sampling to create excitement for second year head coach Tiffany Silver as she announced the 2013-13 schedule.

Along with 12 home games scheduled for the 2013-14 season, the Wildcats will take on two opponents that reached the NCAA Division II Tournament, including Holy Family twice, who reached the second round. Both NCAA qualifiers will make an appearance at the WU Athletics Complex as well.

The official season opener is scheduled for Saturday, November 9 on the road at Lock Haven as Silver begins her second season at the helm of the Wildcats. Silver and the Wildcats will get an early look at one of those NCAA Tournament qualifiers, however, as Bloomsburg comes to Newark for the team’s home opener on November 16.

Wilmington will have two more games to gear up for Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play, as the team will head to NCAA Division I foe Delaware State for an exhibition and battle Lincoln (Pa.) on the road. The team will open its CACC play on the road as well, taking on Chestnut Hill in the on Tuesday, November 26 at 6 p.m.

Follow the road contest with the Griffins, the Wildcats return to the WU Athletics Complex for four straight contests, squaring off against USciences, Post, Mercy, and Holy Family all by December 16.

Rounding out the first half of the calendar season is a trip to CACC South Division foe Georgian Court on December 18 and a holiday tournament at West Virginia State for a pair of games.

After the New Year, the Wildcats will take care of the bulk of their CACC schedule, with one nonconference game at Lancaster Bible scheduled early in January.

The Wildcats are going to host Bloomfield, Philadelphia, Georgian Court, Chestnut Hill, Concordia, Felician, and Goldey-Beacom starting in January while they take to the road to battle Nyack, Dominican, and Caldwell from the North Division. They will also finish out their home and home series with South Division foes Goldey-Beacom, Holy Family, Philadelphia, and USciences.

The ultimate goal will be return to Caldwell in March with a chance to claim the program’s first CACC Tournament Championship. The CACC Tournament begins with a quarterfinal matchup at the higher seed on Saturday, March 1, with the semifinals and championship being held in Caldwell, N.J., on March 7-8.
