Sam Clark Headlines Weekly CACC Reports as Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week
Ashley Bennett and Rebekah McCurry Named on Weekly Honor Rolls

Freshman golfer Sam Clark led the Wildcats in their lone tournament last week, leading the Wilmington University student-athlete to be named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Golf Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Clark (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) led the Wildcats to a ninth place team finish at the highly touted Jim Bishop Toyota Classic hosted by North Alabama on Monday and Tuesday. The freshman tied for 16th overall with a 76-73-80, for a three-round score of 229.
Clark was in a tie for eighth overall after the first day which featured two rounds of play. His 73 second round brought his first day score to 149 (+5) and tied with two other student-athletes in eighth place.
Women’s lacrosse junior Rebekah McCurry was named to the CACC’s Weekly Honor Roll for her play in the Wildcats’ two games last week, leading the team to a 1-1 record. McCurry tallied seven points in two games, scoring four goals and three assists. She also led the team with seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers last week.
Softball’s sophomore Ashley Bennett was also named to the CACC’s Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, leading the Wildcats to a split of Philadelphia in their only action last week. Bennett went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored in game two against the Rams, after batting 1-for-3 with an RBI in the opener on the Thursday.
