While participating in the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University, friends of the Wilmington University golf team found themselves on the wrong end of an awful situation as the Eckerd College golf team was the victim of theft.

Thieves broke into the Tritons’ team vehicle, stealing over $25,000 worth of materials, including all the student-athlete’s golf clubs. The student-athlete’s personal belongs were also taken, including clothes, computers, and other electronics. Because of the theft, the Tritons had to pull out of the Buccaneer Invitational.

The Athletics Department at Wilmington University is sponsoring a fundraiser to help support the Tritons. Donations will be accepted and sent directly to their athletic department to aid the student-athletes in any way possible. Donations of any size will be greatly appreciated and may be dropped off to either Wilmington University golf head coach Harry Jennings, or Athletic Director Linda Andrzjewski.

Please contact Harry Jennings with any questions or concerns at (302) 420-7682.
