The Wilmington University golf team swept the major awards at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference banquet on Monday night, as Jerry Temple was named the CACC Golfer of the Year, Sam Clark was named the CACC Rookie of the Year, and Harry Jennings was named the CACC Coach of the Year, as the All-CACC team was announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.

The major awards and all-conference team is determined by the current Golfstat rankings, the Coach of the Year is upon by the league’s sports information directors, and the team sportsmanship award is voted on by the coaches.

Temple, a native of Newark, Delaware, sits atop the Golfstat rankings with a Division Rating of 124.  In nine tournaments this season, the senior has carded an average score of 74.44 and has posted three top-five finishes and one additional top-10 in 2013-2014.  He carded a low round of 69 during his second round of the Flagler College Jennison Memorial on September 24, 2013.  This is the first appearance for Temple on the All-Conference Team as well.

Clark is currently ranked second in the conference with a Divisional Rating of 239.  In eight tournaments, the freshman from Hampstead, Md. has recorded an average round of 75.67 and has registered five top-20 performances including two top-fives.  Clark was tied for first with teammates Matt DiEleuterio and Tomasz Pulsakowski by shooting a 76 in a match with Felician on March 14.  He was named CACC Rookie of the Week on March 31 after leading the Wildcats to a ninth-place finish at the Jim Bishop Toyota Classic hosted by North Alabama.

Joining Temple and Clark on the All-CACC Tea are seniors Andrew Baldo and Tomasz Pulsakowski, sophomore Andreas Lunding, and Freshman Freddy Braun.

Baldo is currently 239th in the Divisional ranking, averaging a score of 75.29 in 24 rounds in 2013-14. He finished second at the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational for his best mark of the season, while leading the Wildcats at the Buccaneer Invitational with a 10th place finish in Miami Beach, Fla.

Lunding has finished the 2013-14 season strong with a second place finish at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational this past weekend, and is currently 308th in the Divisional Ranking. The sophomore is averaging 75.74 strokes per round in 27 rounds.

Pulsakowski is currently 556 according to the Divisional Ranking, scoring an average of 77.11 in 27 rounds played. He was tied atop the leaderboard in the dual match against Felician while also finishing second in a dual match against Bentley. The senior carried that momentum into the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational and finished fifth.

Braun rounds out the Wildcats on the All-CACC team, finishing 748 on the Divisional charts according to Golfstat. In 20 rounds of play in his first collegiate season, the freshman averaged 78.25 strokes per round. He finished a season’s best fifth at the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational while coming in sixth in the WU Spring Invite against Bentley.

Joining the six Wildcats on the All-CACC team are junior Matthew Yun of Nyack College, senior Ross Earnshaw of Post University, and senior Sam Deitte and junior Eutimio Fernandez-Meade of Concordia College.

For the fourth consecutive time, Wilmington’s Harry Jennings has been named CACC Coach of the Year. The headman is currently in his tenth season at the helm of the Wildcat program that enters the 2014 CACC Tournament as the three-time defending champion.  Jennings has placed six Wildcats on the 2014 edition of the all-league team including the Player and Rookie of the Year.  Jennings led the Wildcats to a total of 62 wins in the 2013-14 season, going 62-48.

The banquet is the beginning of the CACC Tournament, as the student-athletes set out on the course for the first time on Tuesday. The Wildcats are seeking their fourth straight CACC Tournament championship this week, playing at the Blue Bell Country Club in Blue Bell, Pa.
