Mike Annone and Megan Keffer Highlight This Week’s CACC Weekly Reports

Sophomore Mike Annone and junior Megan Keffer were honored as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference releases its Weekly Reports on Monday, after leading the baseball and women’s lacrosse teams, respectively, on the field this past week.

Annone (Wilmington, Del./Concord) was named the CACC Baseball Player of the Week after he led the baseball team to a 7-0 week with 11 RBI’s, nine of which came in a doubleheader at Bloomfield over the weekend.

The sophomore batted 9-for-21 (.429) for the week, hitting a double, two home runs, and knocking in five runs in game one against Bloomfield before coming back to hit a triple and adding four more RBIs in game two. He added an RBI is game one against Post and in game one against Concordia. Four of his nine base hits went for extra bases, as he slugged .857 on the week.

Keffer (Wilmington, Del./Concord) was named the CACC Women’s Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week, making it the second week in a row a Wildcat (6-7, 5-4 CACC) has been named a Defensive Player of the Week after Rebekah McCurry earned the honor last week.

The junior led the Wildcats with six caused turnovers in two games last week, forcing four turnovers against Holy Family. Keffer also led the team with seven draw controls, collecting four at Philadelphia, and tied for the team lead with 10 ground balls, tallying five in each game. She also scored four goals on the week.

Baseball’s reliever Tyler Fries was named on the Weekly Honor Roll after appearing in five of the seven game for the Wildcats. He struck out seven batters while not allowing a run in five innings of work out of the pen for the Wildcats.

Softball’s Stephanie Sarris was named on the Weekly Honor Roll after winning all three of the Wildcats’ games last week in the circle. She went 3-1 overall, collected 23 strikeouts in 24.2 innings with only 12 hits and six runs scored. She earned both victories over Georgian Court in the week’s first doubleheader.

McCurry was also named on the Weekly Honor Roll for women’s lacrosse, as she led the Wildcats with eight goals and nine points last week. She tallied five goals against Holy Family. The junior also added nine ground balls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers for the week.
