Wilmington University senior golfer Jerry Temple added a Division II PING All-East Region honor to his collection of 2014 awards, as the All-Region teams were announced earlier this week.

Named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year prior to the CACC Tournament, Temple led the Wildcats to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional in Charleston, W.Va., to cap the season.

Temple played in 10 tournaments as a senior, finishing as best as fourth overall at the Otter Invitational in Monterey, Calif. He also placed fifth at the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational and at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational tournaments.

The senior averaged 74.21 strokes per round of golf in 2013-14, bringing his national rating to 98 at year’s end. His low round of 69 came in the first tournament of the season, hitting the 69 in the second round of the Jennison Memorial hosted by Flagler College.

In the 28 rounds of golf this season, Temple averaged 2.43 strokes above the courses par score. He ranked third in the East Region following the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament.
