Second year softball head coach Mike Shehorn has announced the registration of four more Wilmington University Softball Instruction camps throughout the Fall with the focus on specialization of the different aspects of the game.

Shehorn, who led the 2014 team to its first ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament championship and a spot in the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament, will host a Catchers Camp, a Pitchers Camp, and Hitting/Slapping Camp, and an All-Skills Camp throughout September and October.

The Catchers Camp will run from September 9-11 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each day with instruction on framing, blocking, pick off techniques, how to properly call a game, and how to communicate using proper terminology taught throughout the camp.

The Pitchers Camp will run from September 16-18 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. each day. Campers will have the opportunity to work with former NCAA Division I pitcher and current Wilmington pitching coach Cara Stecher on proper pitching techniques as well as more advanced spins and pitches.

The Hitting/Slapping Camp will run from September 23-26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. each day. Campers will learn proper hitting techniques, how to adjust to all pitches, and taking advantage of the defense.

The High School All-Skills Camp for high school students will be a one-day clinic on October 18 from 9-12 p.m. The camps will focus on all aspects of playing the game, including individual and team instructions.

Both camps will be run from the home of Wildcat Softball at Asbury Field on the New Castle campus of Wilmington University.
