The Wildcats of Wilmington University posted a team score of 635 to place fourth in the Scotty Duncan Memorial Classic, hosted by the University of Delaware, at White Clay Creek Country Club in Stanton, Delaware.
Wilmington shot a team score of 329 in the first round on Sunday, and followed that with a 306 on Monday. The Wildcats placed fourth among the 13 teams competing at the two-day event played at the Par 72, 6,861 yard course.
Freshman Daniel Ott led the charge for the ‘Cats, as he carded a 157 (80-77) and finished tied for fifteenth overall. Classmate Paul Tighe was seventeenth, as he shot a 158 (83-75), while fellow freshman Jeff Whiteside (160 – 84-76; 25th place) senior Matt Hall (161 – 83-78; 31st place) also had strong showings. Freshman Jonn Perrine (166 - 83-83; 51st place) rounded out the five for Wilmington.
On the individual side, Brian Barrow had his best showing of the year, as he posted a 158 (84-74) and tied for seventeenth place.
The Wildcats return to action later this week, when they take part in the Dominican College Charger Challenge at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York.
