The Wilmington University men’s cross country team has been ranked ninth in the East Region, according to the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.
Wilmington vaulted up to ninth in the rankings after they won the Cabrini College Invitational. Freshman Bill Steele (Rising Sun HS/Conowingo, MD) placed fifth at the event and was awarded Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week for his efforts. Senior Matt O’Brian (St. Mark’s HS/Bear, DE) finished fourth and garnered CACC Honorable Mention status.
The regional ranking is the highest in program history, since the Wildcats became members of the NCAA in 2004.
The complete listing of the rankings can be found at http://www.ustfccca.org/rankings/division-ii-rankings.
