High School: Three-year letterwinner as a catcher and third baseman at Triton Regional High School – two-time Second Team All-Conference performer as a junior and a senior – also lettered in football as a tight end and a linebacker.
Personal: Ryan Thomas Richards – son of Thomas and Annette Richards – has an older sister, Ashley – middle school education major at Wilmington University with aspirations of becoming a teacher and a coach
