Biography

2013 Season: Appeared in 48 games as a redshirt sophomore, making 44 starts as a right fielder and designated hitter – finished second on the team with 16 stolen bases – led the team with 25 walks – hit .227 with a .398 on-base percentage – had five games with two hits – had a season high three RBIs against Bloomfield, going 2-for-3 with a double, and three runs scored – also scored a season high three runs against Chestnut Hill and UMES.

At Hartford CC: played one season at Harford Community College as a catcher, helping the team reach the Regional XX Semifinal before finishing the season with a 44-13 record – earned Second Team All-Region XX Division One in 2011

High School: Earned two letters as a catcher for the St. Mark’s baseball team in 2009 and 2010 – helped lead the team to back-to-back DIAA State Championships with a combined 44-8 record during the two years – named First Team All-Conference in 2010 – also played football as a running back and defensive back on the 2010 DIAA State Runner Up team.

Personal: Jonathan Angel Castro – son of Juan Castro and Vilma Morales – family member, Joe Morales, played in Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers farm system, reaching as high as AA – has an older sister Rebekah – majoring in criminal justice at Wilmington with aspirations of becoming an FBI Agent.
