Biography

2014 Season: Appeared in 32 games as a redshirt freshman, making 16 starts in the outfield – went 1-for-3 in his Wilmington debut, the first game of the year against Mansfield – collected two hits against Adelphi in Florida with a double – also hit a double against Pace on March 20 – earned his first RBI on February 23 against Mercyhurst – scored two runs at Caldwell in game one of the doubleheader on March 27.

High School: Three sport athlete at Sussex Central High School – four year letterwinner in baseball – helped lead the 2009 baseball team to a 20-3 record and into the Delaware State Tournament – named All-Conference in two seasons at third base – four year letterwinner in football – helped football team to two Conference Championships – two-time All-Conference performer as a linebacker, All-Conference performer as an outside linebacker – also earned one letter on the basketball team.

Personal: Jesse Ryan Long – son of David and Lisa Long – has an older brother, DJ, who played baseball at the University of Delaware (2010-2013) – majoring in middle level education at Wilmington University, with aspirations of becoming a teacher – from Millsboro, Del. – favorite athlete is LeSean McCoy – other than baseball, he enjoys the beach and basketball – his favorite professional sports team is the Philadelphia Eagles – the perfectly prepared meal would be a steak and a baked potato – favorite movie is Friday Night Lights.
