Biography

2014 Season: Appeared in nine games while making four starts as a freshman – earned his first collegiate win in his first appearance, pitching two innings with three strikeouts against Saint Rose on February 23 – made his first start against Adelphi on March 9, going 5.0 innings with five strikeouts, giving up one run in the no decision – his longest outing of the year came on April 11 against Concordia, going 5.2 innings in his second start of the season – the team went 3-1 in his four starts and 7-2 in his nine appearances – also struck out a season high five batters in 4.2 innings at Shippensburg.

High School: Three year letterwinner at Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del., for head coach Ted Godfrey – helped lead team to a 16-6 overall record as a senior in 16-5 overall record in 2011 as a junior, leading them to the DIAA State Semifinals – named Second Team All-State as a pitcher – earned starting pitcher for the Blue-Gold All-Star game as a senior.

Personal: Jake J. Wersinger – son of Dave and Joan Murray – majoring in accounting and finance at Wilmington University – from Greenville, Del. – also enjoys playing golf – his all-time favorite athlete is Tiger Woods – if he could be the head coach of a team for a year, he would coach the Philadelphia Flyers – his most memorable sports moment is when he broke his jaw and finished the game.
