Biography

2013 (Freshman): Started in all 21 games as a redshirt freshman, anchoring the defense on the left side – tallied his first career point with an assist against Caldwell in a 3-1 victory – added his other assists against Goldey-Beacom on October 16 – scored his lone goal in the first round of the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament against Post, scoring in the 16th minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead – helped lead a defense in allowing only 26 goals (1.19 goals against average) on the year.

High School: Four year letterwinner at William Penn High School under Chris Wellborn and Bill Nuneville – ranked seventh in the state while earning First Team All-State in 2011 – also named First Team All-State in 2010.

Personal: Geoffrey B. Velasquez-Zarate – son of Mr. Velasquez and Mrs. Zarate – has three siblings, Ivan, Christian, and Derek – majoring in behavioral science at Wilmington University – from New Castle, Del. – favorite athletes are Ike Casillas and Raul – if he could be someone else for a day, he would be Cristiano Ronaldo – favoritae movie is Scarface – favorite professional sports teams are Real Madrid and Chelsea FC – his biggest pet peeve is rats.
