Biography

At Delaware State: Started in 13 games as a sophomore in 2013 – batted 16-for-41 with three double, a home run and four RBI – appeared in 27 games as a freshman, batting .214 (12-for-56), with four doubles, five RBI, and seven runs scored.

High School: Four year letterwinner in softball at Sussex Tech for coaches John Marcel and Deborah Kenton – helped lead the Sussex Tech softball team to two conference championships – named First Team All-State, MVP, Top Offensive Player, and First Team All-Conerence as a senior in 2011 – named First Team All-State and All-Conference in 2009 and 2010 – named Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference as a freshman in 2008 – also played four years of field hockey – helped lead the team to back-to-back DIAA State Championships as a junior and senior – named First Team All-Conference as a senior in 2010 – honor roll student.

Personal: Kelsey Kelly Doherty – daughter of David and Linda Doherty – has two younger siblings, Tyler and Deron – father, David, played baseball at Elizabethtown College – majoring in elementary education at Wilmington – favorite all-time athletes are Chase Utley and Lauren Chamberlain – if she could be someone else for a day, she would be Carrie Underwood – her favorite sports teams are the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers.
