Eric Zebley begins his seventh season as the assistant head coach of the softball program. Coach Zebley comes to Wilmington after eight years as a coach of the Delaware Orange Crush, an eighteen and under travel ball team located in New Castle County. During his tenure with the Orange Crush, his teams compiled a 254-71 record, including six state championships.
Zebley has spent many years assisting with the Delaware Invitational Tournaments, working with the organization since its inception. He has followed the sport of softball in the tri-state area very closely over the last decade, travelling to many high school games along with numerous tournaments all over the east coast. His commitment to the game is evident in the countless hours he has put in over the years helping area youth learn the game, volunteering his time to help young women play the sport of softball.
Eric’s daughter, Melissa, graduated from CACC foe Holy Family University, where she was an All-Conference second baseman for the Tigers. She is currently an assistant coach with the Wildcats, joining her father on staff after her graduation.
“Coach Zebley will give this program the extra edge needed in preparations, both in practice and in game situations,” stated head coach Erin Harvey. Eric’s attention to detail is unmatched, and he will have direct input into our practice plans and game strategy. Eric observes so many things on the field, during both practice and games, and the adjustments we make from his input are crucial.”
