Kim Huggins-Habbert - Head Coach

Kim Huggins-Habbert begins her eighth season as the head coach of the Wildcat volleyball program. She joined Wilmington after one year as an assistant . Prior to that, she spent 10 years at Christiana High School in Newark, Delaware. In her first season as head coach, she led the 'Cats to a 20-0 record in the CACC and 27-9 overall record. The team won the CACC regular season and tournament titles and became the first squad in school history to earn a berth to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.

In her first year as an assistant at Wilmington University, the team once again posted a 16-0 undefeated conference record. As a collegiate player, Coach Huggins-Habbert was a standout athlete for Division I James Madison University where she was an outside hitter and defensive specialist. She continues playing today in the Women's A level of the United States Volleyball Association.

While coaching at Christiana High School, Coach Huggins-Habbert let the Vikings to two Blue Hen Conference titles and an appearance in the Delaware State finals. She was awarded the Delaware Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year award in 1995 and finished her high school coaching career with a record of 113-66.

Coach Huggins-Habbert is very active in all areas of volleyball in Delaware. She serves on the board of the Delaware Volleyball Coaches Association. In addition, she is the director of First State Volleyball Club which promotes volleyball to players age 11 through 18. The club has sent two teams to the United States Volleyball Association National Tournament.

Coach Huggins-Habbert graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education and earned her Master's degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University. She is currently employed as a guidance counselor at Christiana High School, in Newark, DE.
