Course Description
The course is a multidiscipline travel program to Ireland with a focus on criminal justice systems that is designed to provide the opportunity for students in all majors to experience together the culture of Ireland, and observe the outward manifestations of the signs, symbols, and traditions of the country that make it unique. The focus of the course will be on expanding the student's understanding of the host country through selected pre-travel research, readings, and lectures that will enable the student to critically review the observations on the trip in comparison to the research material. The professor, local contacts, and host country university professors will conduct site lectures. Criminal justice professionals will provide in-depth information on identified issues. All students will follow the same travel itinerary with the opportunity to focus on personal areas of interest.
