Asst. Prof. O'Dell obtained her law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware and is admitted to practice before both the Delaware and New Jersey courts. She is an advocate for children in Delaware’s foster care system through the Office of the Child Advocate and represents respondents in mental health hearings before Superior Court. Prior to entering law school, Prof. O'Dell worked as a paralegal for four years in the areas of patent/trademark, labor/employment, insurance defense, and civil litigation.
She taught as a Wilmington University adjunct for ten years before being hired full-time to coordinate the Legal Studies program in 2005. In addition to her responsibilities as program coordinator, she also serves as the pre-law advisor for Wilmington University, assisting students and alumni who are interested in pursuing graduate education in law.
