Online Courses

Online Courses are courses where all learning activities are conducted using the Internet. There will be no on-location meetings with the instructor or other students enrolled in the course. See the course comment for specific instructions. Tuition for all online courses is billed at the New Castle tuition rate.

Course ID Contains: DIS (example BBM.102.DIS.SEN01 )

What You Need: Internet access is required, and very convenient Internet access is recommended.You must be able to use internet tools and applications like web browsers, email, file attachments, discussion threads, etc. Prior to enrolling in an Online Course, completion of the prerequisite DIS095 is required. DIS095 is FREE of charge and can be completed through Blackboard in approximately 60 minutes.

How to Access the Course: Access your online courses through Blackboard. Online Courses begin on the first Monday of the block or semester. Online students are expected to participate 3-5 days per week. The actual time of day is up to the student.

What about Books? Students enrolled in an Online Course must find and order textbooks at Wilmington University's Online Bookstore.

Hybrid Courses

Hybrid Courses combine the best features of in-class interaction and online learning. On-location class meetings for these courses can be reduced by as much as 50% compared to traditional courses. Online participation is required to replace in-class sessions.

Course ID Contains: HYB (example: HRM.311.HYB.B1N01 )

What You Need: Internet access is required, and very convenient Internet access is recommended.

How to Access the Course: Hybrid courses typically begin with an on-location class meeting (day and time as published in the course listing) to discuss the class meeting schedule and course outline. See the course comment for specific information and instructions.

What about Books? Books can be purchased in the College Bookstore at your College location, or by any method you choose. To find which textbooks are required for your course, go to the Bookstore's web page to view the list of textbooks required for each course.
