Tasting Freedom: A Black History Month Author Event

In honor of Black History Month, the Robert C. and Dorothy M. Peoples Library, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Student Life Department are sponsoring the event as a “meet and greet” with the author that will lead to discussion of the book with students and other attendees. Biddle and Dubin have written a compelling biography of Octavius Catto, “Philadelphia’s best kept secret,” that paints a vivid picture of Civil War America and, in particular, Philadelphia’s rich history in the fight for civil rights.

Visit the book’s website for author information, book excerpts, reviews, and more.
