Services

Wilmington University ID / Library Card

Your Wilmington University ID card can be used for borrowing library materials if it has a barcode on the back. All new IDs will have the student ID number printed on the back of the ID card along with a barcode. Students in possession of the old ID cards with a sticker barcode are encouraged to obtain a new ID with printed barcode. Distance students may use their class roster form to find their student ID number for borrowing materials. If you need a student ID please call or visit:

Toll free 800 Line — 1-800-451-5724

This toll free number is provided for students taking classes at downstate sites. Calling this number will connect you with a librarian at New Castle who can answer questions and provide Library services during regular hours of operation.

Interlibrary Loan

Materials not owned by the University or unavailable electronically can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan. Requests can be made online or by calling the 800 line. Web delivery is an option for some materials.

It is the responsibility of the patron to first see if items are held by Wilmington University. Downstate students must also check to see if items are held by the libraries at Delaware State University (Dover students) or at Delaware Technical Community College, (Georgetown students)

Materials Delivery

Students enrolled at sites other than the New Castle campus can have materials mailed to their home by calling the 800 line. Return postage is also supplied.  Materials requested by faculty and staff are sent to University mailboxes. Books and photocopies of articles that are not available in a full text database are the items that can be requested.

TCLC (Tri-State College Library Cooperative)

As a member of TCLC (Tri-State College Library Cooperative), students and faculty with a letter of introduction may access and obtain borrowing privileges at regional academic libraries. Obtain a letter of introduction by contacting the Library.

Photocopiers

Photocopiers are available at each location. Copying in most locations is 10 cents per page.

Group Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms are available at the New Castle and Georgetown locations.

Computers

Library computers are available at each site in the library to conduct research using Library resources. Printing is also available and free of charge.

Please note that library computers can display and print  Microsoft Office documents (Word, Power Point, Excel), however they do not  have editing capability. To create or edit a document please use the  site computer labs, which are separate from the library computers (New Castle Computer Lab Hours). Computer labs are also available at the Graduate Center, Dover, and Georgetown. Please call these sites for further information and for lab hours.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is available at the New Castle, Graduate Center, Dover and Georgetown locations.
