Wilmington University to Host Second New Castle Writer's Conference

February 20, 2008—New Castle, DE. The Second New Castle Writer's Conference sponsored by the Delaware Literary Connection and Wilmington University will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wilmington University's Dover Campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Several exciting writing workshops will be held including "Writing Your Way Towards Real Dialogue: The Said and the Unsaid", "Selling Your Story: Creative Non-Fiction From Concept, to Proposal, to Book", "Breaking the Barrier Between Poem and Fiction: The Prose Poem and other Hybrids", and "Editing: Making a Good Story Great".

Over lunch hour from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. attendees will take pleasure in "Lunchtime Treats" featuring Spoken Poetry: Sit Back and Enjoy, How to Apply for a Delaware Division of Arts Grant, and How to get an Agent - Or Not!

After lunch two Master Classes will begin: a Master Class in Fiction, and a Master Class in Poetry. Meanwhile more workshops will continue into the afternoon featuring "What Matters in Dramatic Script Writing", "Photojournalism - Picture View", "Writing for Teens", "Start Local: Go Big - Time", "Defining Characters in Space", "Thinking Like a...What? Metaphor in Poetry", and finally "Getting Published: Yes It Is Possible".
