Wilmington University's National Human Services Honor Society Holds Induction Ceremony

April 15, 2008—New Castle, DE. The Nu Chapter of Tau Upsilon Alpha – the National Human Services Honor Society at Wilmington University held its charter induction ceremony and dinner on Friday, April 11, 2008, at the New Castle campus. The keynote speaker and honorary guest was Michelle Taylor, President and CEO of United Way Delaware, the State of Delaware's largest non-profit fundraising organization.

Michelle Taylor is a graduate of Wilmington University, where she received an Master of Business Administration. After four years as United Way of Delaware's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Taylor became President and CEO of the company. Mrs. Taylor has lead the implementation of United Way of Delaware's five-part Strategic Plan, a multi-year effort to eliminate root causes of some of Delaware's most pressing social problems. Prior to becoming President and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Taylor played a leading role in formulating this strategy.

Dr. Adrienne Bey, Administration of Human Services Program Coordinator, Dr. Kim Bates, National Vice President of Tau Upsilon Alpha and Christian Trowbridge, Dean of the Division of Behavioral Science, all welcomed Michelle Taylor as well as all the new inductees.

Tau Upsilon Alpha (TUA) National Human Services Honor Society is open to graduate students in the Administration of Human Services program. The purpose of TUA is to honor academic excellence; to foster lifelong learning, leadership, and development; and to promote excellence in service to humanity.

Congratulations to the new members of Tau Upsilon Alpha.
