Director of Student Affairs Honored with 2008 ACE OWHE Rising Star Award
April 25, 2008New Castle, DE. The Director of Student Affairs at Wilmington University, Tina Scott, was honored with the 2008 American Council on Education (ACE) Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) Rising Star award on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. The Rising Star award is presented annually to a woman in higher education in Delaware whose potential to achieve more is evident. Rising Star recipients demonstrate a commitment to higher education, community service and overall leadership.

Tina Scott began at Wilmington University in 1995 as an administrative assistant. She quickly climbed the ranks, becoming Coordinator of Student Activities in July of 2000, while simultaneously pursuing her bachelor's degree in Business Management followed by her master's degree in Business Administration from Wilmington University. During her tenure as a student at Wilmington University, Tina Scott earned numerous awards and distinctions including Dean's list honors, a leadership award, being part of Delta Epsilon Rho Honor Society, receiving an Alumni Recognition Award, and the President's Award for Leadership.
As a member of the American College Personnel Association, the American Council on Education-Office of Women in Higher Education Delaware Network (Executive Board), and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Tina Scott has also been an active representative of women in higher education, and truly is a Rising Star.
Lalena Luna, Program Coordinator in the Activities and Programs Office at the University of Delaware also received a Rising Star award for her commitment to women in higher education.
