The staff of Wilmington University's Rehoboth Beach site is hosting an art show featuring the colors of the season. The show is open to students, alumni, staff, faculty and the public. Held at the Rehoboth Beach Site at 41 Rehoboth Avenue, the free art show will feature two artists: Linda Minkowski (a Wilmington University adjunct professor), and Jane Knaus (a student at the University). The art show runs through June.
Minkowski teaches traditional painting techniques at Wilmington University, as well as other local art leagues. A member of the Rehoboth Art League and a founding member of the Delaware Shore Artists Group, Minkowski has been creating visual art her entire life. A graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art and Maryland Institute College of Art, she has been active in the region's art community. She created one of the original Rehoboth Beach dolphin statues as a part of the Dolphin Project, and enjoys painting people, pets and buildings. Her art leans toward colorful, expressive realism.
Jane Knaus attends many of Wilmington University’s non-credit art classes that are held in Rehoboth. A creative director and owner of Graphics by the Sea, a small graphic design company in Rehoboth, Knaus has enjoyed painting for years. Knaus earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the University of California in Berkley. She earned her Master’s degree in Publication Design from George Washington University, and has exhibited in Europe and throughout the United States. A prize-winning graphic designer, Knaus is a member of the Rehoboth Art League and the Delaware Shore Artists Group.
