Wilmington University Announces New Online Community for Students in the Military
Wilmington University is pleased to announce a new Blackboard community for the Military/Veteran Student Organization (MVSO). This new online community will help service members to stay informed about upcoming events, share experiences on the discussion board feature, read and post comments on news articles pertaining to military students, and be able to interact informally with other community members.
“We are proud to announce this online community for our service members," said James S. Webb, Military Affairs Coordinator. "We believe it will be especially beneficial to members of the military who are deployed and cannot participate in our onsite activities”
The MVSO is a non-political social organization that promotes camaraderie and networking among the University's military and veteran students. Its mission is to provide student who are in the military with the resources, support, and advocacy needed for a successful transition from military to student life and beyond.
This initiative was driven by the External Affairs Department in collaboration with the Online Learning and Educational Technology department as a part of the Blackboard Community Engagement project.
