Wilmington University’s Homecoming is a Family Affair

On Saturday, September 20th, hundreds of WilmU students, alumni, faculty, and staff will gather at the WilmU Athletic Complex to celebrate their Wildcat community.  The complex will be abuzz with excitement as the Men's and Women’s soccer teams battle it out on the field, food vendors serve up tasty stadium food, and the cheerleaders entertain the spectators with their spirit and athleticism.  But the games and tasty treats are not the only source of activity!  The entire property is going to be filled with attractions for all ages.  At Wilmington University, we know how important family is, and we want the entire family to be able to enjoy their time in Green and White country.

The New Castle Chapter of the WilmU Alumni Association has worked incredibly hard to make sure that there will be something for everyone who attends… even our future students!  New Castle Chair, Madelynn Burns, stated, “we are once again providing family friendly fun during Homecoming 2014.  New this year are stations where kids can showcase their soccer skills, and a make-your-own Wiley D. Wildcat Mask activity.  The Wiley D. Wildcat masks will be eligible for a “best of” contest in three different age groups (adult, youth and child categories).  Face painting, games, and an art station will return this year as well.   Be sure to visit the family friendly fun area while you enjoy all Homecoming 2014 has to offer!”

So, as you are planning your Homecoming weekend, please be sure to bring the kiddos!  They have been there as a support in your educational journey, and now is a time to celebrate with them the joy of being a part of the Wilmington University family.
