Wilmington University Program Chair Dr. Doris Lauckner Appears on "Good Morning Delmarva" Show

Her live interview and meditation demonstration will air Friday, Feb. 5, at 6:25 a.m. on WMDT Channel 47.

On Friday, February 5, Dr. Doris Laukner, Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program chair in the Wilmington University College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, will be interviewed and do a live demonstration of meditation techniques at 6:25 a.m. on the "Good Morning Delmarva" show on ABC television affiliate WMDT Channel 47. Lauckner, along with her her training partner, Carlyle Hooff, will appear as part of the show's "New Year New You" series.

She agreed to appear on the program after receiving an email from WMDT’s morning show producer. Lauckner will be on the show with her training partner, Carlyle Hooff, to present the proven health and mental wellness benefits of mindfulness training and meditation.

Laukner is trained to teach two styles of meditation: Vipassana, or insight meditation, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. She started meditating with clients while working as a health psychologist 25 years ago. Lauckner meditates daily and is a certified meditation trainer who is popular at seminars, workshops and retreats. She has integrated mindfulness training and meditation into the CMHC program, particularly for first year WilmU students.

Laukner belongs to the Insight Meditation Community of Lewes, Delaware, where she regularly trains interested people to do meditation as a daily practice. Hooff possesses similar training credentials and holds a master’s degree in counseling. She is presently pursuing training in executive coaching.
