Wilmington University to Host First Career Week March 22 through 24

Students can speak directly with employers who are actively hiring those with skills learned from each of the University's academic colleges.

Wilmington University Career Services will host its first Career Week for students from March 22 through March 24 in the Pratt Student Center on the New Castle campus from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day .

Admission is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. All students are welcome to attend each day.

“Our goal is to connect qualified students to employers who are searching for specific majors and skill sets,” said Dr. Regina Allen-Sharpe, Senior Director, Wilmington University Career Services & Student Life. “We encourage every student to show up, be prepared, be outgoing and understand they will have more time to spend with employers who are focused on their majors.”

Employers from all over Delaware and the surrounding region will be on campus each day to interview and hire students based on their degrees and career aspirations.

Tuesday, March 22

Hiring employers will be on hand to meet and interview students from the College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Wednesday, March 23

Employers will be on campus to interview and possibly hire students in programs in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Education and the College of Health Professions.

Thursday, March 24

Employers looking for new employees with solid technology skills will be interviewing students in the College of Technology.

Students will have a brief amount of time to speak with the attending Career Fair employers. Students should be able to introduce themselves to every employer they speak to and include a brief summary of their most important qualifications in a conversational tone. Each attending student should be familiar with the employers attending their particular job fair, especially those that are of the most interest.

To prepare in advance of this event, students can participate in the online Career Fair Prep Series. Information about the series is listed on Wilmington University's active data calendar and through Careerlink.
