Women Making a Difference in Delaware

YWCA's NarrateHER project provides a platform for community-minded women to tell their stories

They're activists and advocates, educators and entrepreneurs. They come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a common goal. The 12 women honored in YWCA Delaware's NarrateHER project want to erase the social barriers holding people back in their communities. And they'll be telling their stories at Wilmington University in April.

Join these dynamic role models for a panel discussion on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m., followed  by a question-and-answer session on the challenges and opportunities faced by First State women. This NarrateHER Talk Back event will take place in the Robert C. and Dorothy M. Peoples Library on Wilmington University's New Castle campus at 320 N. DuPont Highway.

NarrateHER Talk Back is free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to register here for this event.

An exhibit highlighting the women's contributions to social justice and equality in the region will also be on display in the University library. The exhibit has traveled to libraries and colleges statewide since last fall and will only be on display here through April.

"We hope attendees will be inspired by these women, all of whom have dedicated their lives to creating a better Delaware through their activism, advocacy, art and careers," said Stephanie Staats, YWCA Delaware's chief executive officer. "We also hope that, through the celebration of women's leadership, attendees will be encouraged to support YWCA Delaware and our efforts to eliminate racism and empower women."
