Welcome Back, Wildcats

Join the WilmU community this October for Homecoming Week and the WilmU Fall Fest

Show off your Wildcat pride and welcome autumn's arrival at Wilmington University this October. 

University students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to join in the Homecoming Week activities, scheduled from October 2 to 7, and the Fall Festival celebration on October 12, co-sponsored by WilmU's offices of Alumni Relations and Student Life.

Monday, October 2 

Homecoming Kickoff Party

4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pratt Student Center on the New Castle campus

Start your Homecoming Week with free food and friendly competition. Your skill in ping pong, cornhole, and other games could win you prizes.

Tuesday, October 3

Ice Cream Social 

12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pratt Student Center, New Castle campus

Enjoy a free ice cream sundae as you mix and mingle with members of WilmU's student clubs and organizations and discover how rewarding and fun campus life can be!

Wednesday, October 4

Wildcat Mixer

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Iron Hill Brewery, 620 Justison Street in Wilmington

Free - but RSVP is required. Register to attend here.

Join the fun with your WilmU community on Wilmington's Riverfront with good food, craft brews and beverages, great conversation,even door prizes! To attend the mixer, please register here. A cash bar will be available for attendees over 21 with a valid state ID.

Thursday, October 5

WilmU Idol

12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on The Green at the New Castle campus

Let your inner star shine! Take the stage, solo or with friends, for this free event and impress your audience with your favorite songs,. You just might win a prize!

Saturday, October 7 

Homecoming Game Day Festivities

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the WilmU Athletics Complex, 1365 Pulaski Highway in Newark

Wear your green and white and bring your family to cheer the WilmU Wildcats teams at our own Homecoming games!

Free parking at Leasure Elementary School, 1015 Church Road, Newark. Shuttles to and from the athletic complex will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Game Day Tailgating 

Tailgate fee: $25. Advance registration is required to park in the athletic complex lot's limited tailgating space: reserve your spot by Wednesday, October 4. (Attendees must be over 21 years with a valid state ID to BYOB.)

Come early and decorate your car and tailgate space! Our judges will be looking for creative tailgaters to win fabulous prizes for displaying the most Wildcat Spirit! Winners will be announced at 12 noon. Reserve your space here.  

All other family friendly game day activities are free.

10:00 a.m.   Alumni soccer

12:30 p.m.   Women's soccer vs. Dominican College 

3:00 p.m.       Men's soccer vs. Dominican College. 

Cheer! WilmU's six-time national champion cheerleaders will perform throughout the day, and the 2007 men's soccer team — winner of the 2007 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship — will be honored on the field.

Visit Food Truck Alley! Popular local trucks bring restaurant-quality cuisine to street level. Eating options on game day will include award-winning Backyard Louie's BBQ; Kapow, which combines Thai, Korean and Hawaiian flavors; the gourmet sandwiches of WiLDWiCH, and Cajun Sno's New Orleans-style frozen treats.

Enjoy Our Family Fun Zone! Make-your-own scarecrows, face painting, caricature artists, and selfie stations will keep children entertained throughout the day.

After the Homecoming fun is over, join us again at Ramsey Farm in the Brandywine Hundred to welcome the fall season with awesome autumn activities!

Thursday, October 12

WilmU Fall Festival 

Exclusively for the WilmU community! Enjoy s'mores and apple cider; take a hayride, navigate a corn maze, warm up by a bonfire, and purchase a pumpkin at the farm as you enjoy acres of autumn's adventure. 

6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Ramsey Farm is located at 330 Ramsey Road in Wilmington.

Entry fee is $5 per person and an RSVP is required, Register to attend here.
