Learn Leadership and Drive Diversity

Wilmington University's Leadership and Diversity Academy explores management in the modern workplace in 3-part series

Are you looking for affordable, thought-provoking, and up-to-the-minute interpersonal training to round out your degree or educate your employees? Join Wilmington University for the 2018 Leadership and Diversity Academy this fall.

A three-part series focusing on leadership theories (Tuesday, September 25), diversity management (Tuesday, October 9) and LGBTQ issues (Tuesday, October 23) in today's workplace, the Leadership and Diversity Academy seeks to raise awareness, spark conversations, and generate positive action.

Each training session will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wilmington University's Wilson Graduate Center, 31 Reads Way, in New Castle, Delaware. Can't make it in person? Attend virtually through an interactive, livestreamed webcast of the sessions.

Attendance at the Leadership and Diversity Academy costs $89 per training session, or $199 for all three sessions. Register here: wilmu.edu/DiversityAcademy.

Attendees will review and discuss current research with management and diversity experts, participate in online learning activities, and put their newly acquired knowledge to work in their communities.

Scheduled speakers include:

• Dr. J. Lloyd Allen, assistant professor at Wayne State University

• Dr. Sylvia Long-Talbert, clinical and research professor at Johns Hopkins University

• Sarah McBride, national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign

• Andrea Singleton, a biochemist for the Siemens Corporation

• Dr. Gisela Vega, associate director of LGBTQ initiatives at Florida International University

• Dr. Lemar White, a program manager at Google

Attendees will have access to the Leadership and Diversity Academy's Blackboard course online, through which they can interact with the academy's exclusive content and view its recorded video archives.

They will also be eligible to receive academic credit toward select WilmU degree and certificate programs, one credit per session.

The 2018 Leadership and Diversity Academy is sponsored by Wilmington University's College of Business and its College of Online and Experiential Learning, in partnership with the non-profit Proud Professionals Network.
