Wilmington University/Salem Community College BSN Degree Completion Program Agreement Signing

Wilmington University President Dr. Jack Varsalona and Joan Baillie, President of Salem Community College (SCC), entered into an agreement on July 22 that brings a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) completion program to SCC. The agreement was signed at the SCC main campus in Carneys Point, New Jersey.

SCC's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and LPN/Registered Nurse (RN) programs benefit from this signing.Twenty-six people graduated from SCC's program in 2014. There are currently twenty-five students enrolled in the programs. Once these students receive their two-year degree, they can enter the BSN program at Wilmington and complete their BSN requirements through a hybrid program of on-campus classes and online learning.

“This BSN program provides an opportunity for students who juggle family and work to receive a quality education,” said Baillie.

President Varsalona added, “This partnership is dear to us because of the quality of students you send to Wilmington University.”

Also in attendance at the signing were Charles McGlade, Director of Nursing and Allied Health Programs at SCC, Wilmington University's Vice President of External Affairs Dr. Peter Bailey and Aaron Stafford, Academic/Corporate Partnership Manager.
