Wilmington University Rehoboth Outreach Center Hosts Student Art Show

Original works by students of local artist/instructor Linda Minkowski glimpse into our lives and what inspires us in nature.

Wilmington University Rehoboth Beach Outreach Center, 41 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, will host a show of student art work entitled “Nature that Inspires” from September 1 to September 30, 2015. The community is invited to view this show at this location Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This new show includes original works by Wilmington University students LaVerne McIntyre, Bonnie Kaplan, Curt Smith, Joyce Blakeslee, Annette Reeping, Jane Duffy, Patricia Truitt, Marsh Zellhoefer, and Paul Hoyt. All of the art work on display is inspired by nature and provides a look into the creative process that brings an image from the artist's mind to the canvas.

“An artist brings the cornucopia of their minds’ fleeting images to their work, from their environment to their dreams ... images that have occurred up to the moment they put the brush to the canvas," said local artist and instructor Linda Minkowski. "To this myriad of images they put their individual style and 'spin' to make it uniquely theirs."

Wilmington University offers a variety of non-credit courses throughout the year at the Rehoboth Beach center, ranging from art classes to computer and language classes.
