Overview

This degree completion program is for Allied Health practitioners who have earned an Associate’s Degree with an Allied Health concentration. While most Allied Health practitioners are prepared in associate degree programs, leadership positions often require a baccalaureate degree. Many baccalaureate degree programs do not recognize the specialized preparation of Allied Health practitioners and the credits they have earned in their specialty are often not transferable to other institutions. Our Allied Health Degree completion program enables practitioners to transfer most, if not all, of their credits from their initial education. The goal of this program is to provide expert practitioners in the Allied Health field with the knowledge and skill needed to advance in their careers.

Recently, the U. S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics, noted that Allied Health disciplines comprised 10 of the 20 fastest growing occupations. There is also a critical need for well-qualified practitioner-educators to prepare the next generation of Allied Health practitioners. 

Choose from a Concentration
in Management or Education

The program offers two concentrations: Allied Health Management, for those who wish to advance their careers with a more administrative focus, or Allied Health Education, for those who wish to teach the next generation of Allied Health practitioners.  The 120-credit degree completion program allows students to enter with varying credits depending on their prior educational programs. Both concentrations consist of 30 required credits which are interdisciplinary in nature.

Flexible Scheduling, Convenient Locations

Most graduates of Allied Health associate degree programs will be able to finish a baccalaureate degree in as little as two years by attending classes one night a week. Some of the required courses are offered in a hybrid, distance, or weekend formats which can increase flexibility for students. The program is offered in New Castle, Dover, and Georgetown. Coming soon, the Management Track core courses will be available through Distance Learning.
