Nursing RN To BSN
Bachelor of Science
About This Program
This program is for Registered Nurses who have completed basic nursing education with either a diploma or an associate degree. This is a degree-completion program that provides the critical thinking skills and knowledge base needed to function in a rapidly changing global health care environment.
Program of Study
The RN to BSN program has been developed to meet the educational needs of working professionals who are returning to college to complete a degree. The accelerated nursing core consists of 31 credits offered at convenient times and in a variety of formats.
Course delivery formats include 7-week courses, 7-week hybrid courses, and weekend modular courses. The hybrid format involves half of the instruction in the classroom, with the remaining learning occurring outside of the classroom or online.
Nurses can pursue their education on a part-time or full-time basis. The program is offered at the New Castle, Dover, and Georgetown sites.
In addition to the nursing core, the General Studies courses, required of all Wilmington University undergraduates, provide a well-rounded academic foundation.
Career Opportunities
Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to practice as generalists who implement roles such as care-giver, leader, teacher, and researcher to meet complex health needs in a variety of practice settings. The curriculum prepares nurses for career mobility, provides a foundation for graduate education, and promotes lifelong learning.
This information applies to students who enter this degree program during or after the Fall 2007 semester. If you entered this degree program prior to Fall 2007, please refer to the academic catalog for the year you began your degree program.
