Erin Harvey - Head CoachErin Harvey begins her second season as the head coach of the softball program at Wilmington University. Coach Harvey was an assistant coach for four years under former head coach Gretchen Loose, and she also spent a season with the team as a student assistant coach under former Wildcat standout Sheri Stonebreaker. In her first year at the helm, Harvey led the Wildcats to a 31-15 record. A dramatic improvement from the 9-31 season in the previous year, Wilmington finished third in the CACC regular season standings and also placed third at the conference tournament. Three of her student-athletes were awarded All-Region Honors, and the squad captured the highest grade point average in the University's athletic department. The 2007 team was also named a National Fastpitch Coaches' Associate Top-10 Academic Team, as they had the seventh highest grade point average in all of Division II, proving they succeed not only on the playing field, but in the classroom as well. During her tenure as an assistant coach at Wilmington, the program compiled a 89-117 record, including a 52-42 mark in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The team went to the CACC playoffs in three out of her five years, and the 2003 squad earned a NAIA National Tournament berth after capturing the Region X Championship. Coach Harvey, a former athlete at Padua Academy in Wilmington, Delaware, earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Wilmington University in 2001. She currently works in the University’s athletic department, serving as the school’s Sports Information Director. |
