Excellent Preparation
Wilmington University and the National Chapter of
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
will offer a professional development program for human
resource professionals utilizing the revised study materials
of SHRM’s Learning System.
Designed to give human resource specialists new tools
for successful performance on the job, the course also
helps prepare participants for the Human Resource
Certification Institute’s (HRCI) national examination for
the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior
Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation.
What You Will Learn
This professional development program, using the 2009
SHRM Learning System, will consist of three and a half
hour class sessions for twelve weeks.

Laura Harding McCann, SPHR: Laura is employed as the
Director of Employee and Community Relations at Grotto
Pizza, Inc. Laura has over 20 years of experience in the Human
Resources field including time as a Program Administrator
for the State of Delaware at Stockley Center, Corporate
Instructor for Delaware Technical and Community College,
and Adjunct Instructor for Wilmington University. Laura
specializes in employee and community relations, employee
development and communication.

Course Registration Information
The registration fee is $975 for SHRM members and
non-SHRM members and includes all required materials,
workbooks, and mastery tests.*

Exam Information
The HRCI Exam will take place between December 1, 2011, and January 30, 2012, and is open to all HR professionals with two (2) years exempt-level Human Resources experience. Students are also able to take the exam online at various testing sites in the area.
