Wilmington University Hosts Local Artists' Show at Rehoboth Beach Site

Artist Antonia Bradley to give lecture on her painting and technique.

The Rehoboth Beach location of Wilmington University is hosting an art show featuring the works of Antonia Bradley and Faith Duncan at 41 Rehoboth Avenue from now through December 19. Antonia Bradley will also give a lecture on her painting and technique as part of the show at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17.

Antonia is a self-taught artist in all media whose works have won several Rehoboth Art League awards. Born, raised and educated in France, she studied mathematics, physics and chemistry at la Sorbonne, University of Paris. She taught watercolor technique at Wilmington University’s Rehoboth site for 7 years and currently resides in Rehoboth Beach with her husband David Bradley, Commander, USN, Ret..

Faith Duncan has spent a lifetime in the arts. She lived in Paris, France, in the early 1980s and studied drawing under Sophie Varig. She relocated to Delaware 20 years ago and began working in watercolor, studying locally with Sonia Hunt and Robert Chuher. Inspired by such artists as Matisse, Derain, and Rothko, color is the strongest influence in her work. Faith remains active in the Dewey Beach community, where she lives with her husband Bob Duncan, a retired Foreign Service Officer.

Both artists are members of “La Table Francaise”, a French round table. “La Table Francaise” meets monthly and is open to new members. There will be a meeting of this French-speaking group following Antonia Bradley's lecture at 2:00 p.m. on November 17 at Cafe Azafran in Rehoboth.

The art show is free and open to the public. However, space is limited. For information, show hours, or for lecture reservations on November 17, please contact the Rehoboth site staff at 302-227-6295 or visit www.wilmu.edu/rehoboth.
